Family Newsletter -October Edition

Hello Lakeside Families!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Houses. We appreciate you taking the time to join us for this event.

We have a great family engagement activity coming up on Oct. 14. The focus will be math. Please see the flyer further down in this newsletter. Make sure to register for this free event, which will be lots of fun!

The upcoming week is an important week for Clay County Schools. The state is counting student enrollment between now and October 9th. We are asking you to ensure your student attends school every single day during this time. By doing this, you're helping to secure the financial foundation that allows us to provide the high-quality education that Lakeside is known for. We greatly appreciate your support!

Monster Math - A Title 1 Family Engagement Event

World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser

We will begin this fundraiser this week. Your child will be bringing home a permission slip on Monday. The permission slip must be signed and returned to participate. The money raised from this fundraiser will be used towards student incentives.

Parent Volunteer Organization

We are excited to get our PVO up and running! We had a great turnout for our 1st meetin in September. It is not too late to join. We will have our 2nd meeting on Oct. 21 @ 6:00 pm.

Attendance Matters

It is important that students are at school on time every day! When students arrive late or are checked out early on a regular basis, they miss out on substantial amounts of instruction. This can cause gaps in their learning that are difficult to overcome. Please make every effort to have your child at school daily and on time. We understand students need to stay home if they are ill, but we ask that other types of absences are limited.

Individual school pictures will be taken on Oct. 28. More information will be coming over in the near future.

Volunteer Information

There have been many changes to the Clay County Volunteer process. Please make sure you read through this information. If you are going to be a chaperone on a field trip, you have to be a Level 2 Volunteer. There will not be any exceptions made. This process does take some time, so please be proactive in addressing this.
