SBJ News & Updates 🐾

Dear Parents and Families,

There are a million reasons why SBJ is a great place to work and learn. Here are 3 recent examples:

1. At math field day, our 6th grade team came in SECOND in the entire county and our 4th grade team took a gold finish.

2. As we always do, we had teachers and staff attend our most recent Skate Night, just to see the students and spend time with them. (And one of our teachers that attempted skating only fell 5 times! WIN!).

3. We had many students participate in our school speech competition with great support from their teachers. Then, we had 3 students complete in the district wide 4H speech competition and they all placed - we received a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish!

The week of May 4-8 is coming up and we will be celebrating Staff Appreciation at SBJ. Whether it's the teacher who is instructing and providing supports for your child, the custodian who makes them smile at lunch, the cafeteria lady who gives them the Earth Day "dirt" cake, the assistant who gives a little extra help in small group, the secretary who smiles at them each morning, or the resource teacher who helps your child tap into their passion - EVERYONE at SBJ contributes to make it a great day at SBJ everyday!

Over the next week, encourage your child to write a note or choose a small token of appreciation for his/her teacher(s) and an SBJ staff member who has made a difference to them. Also, receiving heartfelt cards or emails from parents means more than you know. Let's show some love and appreciation to the adults who make SBJ a great place to be.

We're an A school. We're an ECTAC Exceeding Expectations School. That doesn't happen by accident. It's the students, the families, the teachers, and the staff. THANK YOU for your partnership!

(And if you haven't already and you'd like to help the SBJ community stock the staff fridge, here's the link! We're getting close!)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Here's the link to provide goodies for our staff! THE LIST IS ALMOST CLEARED! Can you help us complete it?

The digital world moves fast, and many apps that appear harmless are often used to bypass

traditional safety filters. Developed in partnership with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, our

"24 Apps Parents Should Know About" guide will help pull back the curtain on these

hidden risks. We encourage you to visit oneclay.net/connected to access full resources and

handouts whenever you need a starting point for a conversation with your child. Stay tuned for

our next update as we continue to dive deeper into everything internet safety related.

Together, we can ensure our students stay connected, protected, and digitally savvy.
