Ridgeview High

Back to School 2025-2026

Welcome to the 25-26 School Year

Dear Ridgeview High School Community,

On behalf of the RHS Faculty and Staff, welcome to Ridgeview High School! We are thrilled to embark on another enriching school year where we nurture our students' talents and passions together. Here at RHS, being a Panther signifies more than just a mascot – it embodies our commitment to supporting one another, fostering a strong sense of community, and celebrating each individual's unique strengths. Together, we truly make a difference.

At RHS, we are committed to creating an environment where every community member takes pride in our collective achievements. This commitment requires strong partnerships between students, staff, and parents, and we will continue to rely on these partnerships to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. We aim for students to anticipate each school day and feel empowered to explore their interests and love for learning.

Let's make the 2025-2026 school year the most remarkable yet!

Warm regards, Principal Murphy

School Hours

image with backpack and the words school hours

Our school office is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Student hours are from 7:20 a.m. (class start time) until 1:40 p.m. Our cafeteria opens at 7:00 a.m. for those who would like to enjoy school breakfast.

Each Wednesday, the district high schools are on an Early Release Schedule, and we dismiss students at 1:20 p.m. instead of 1:40 p.m. The first Early Release Wednesday is August 13th!

Student Schedules

Our school counselors and administrators are diligently finalizing student schedules. The district will release schedules on August 5th via Synergy. If your student checks their schedule before the first day of school, please have them recheck it the night before school starts to ensure their classes remain the same as we work to balance class sizes. Our counselors will continue to adjust schedules up to the first day of school.

If students cannot access their schedule before the first day of school, do not panic. We will have many adults around to help students find their classes. We will post a list of students' names, along with their first-period teachers, outside our Student Services office. A printed copy of each student's schedule will be available in their first-period class.

Our counselors will be available to assist students who request a schedule change. Seniors will be seen on August 12th, juniors on August 13th, sophomores on August 14th, and freshmen on August 15th. Please note that schedule changes are only permitted under specific circumstances. Students can find detailed information on requesting a schedule change in the grade-level Google Classroom (these codes are listed in the image below).

Students must adhere to their Monday, August 11th schedule, even if they believe their first-period class needs correction. If students encounter a schedule gap, they should report to their counselor only during that period. Please remember that not all schedule change requests will be approved. Our counselors will process the requests as quickly as possible. Please note that a schedule change may take up to two weeks to be processed.

Arrival and Pickup for Car Riders

Morning Drop-Off

Please be patient during the first few days of school. Parent drop-off and pick-up are always busier during this time.

There are three designated drop-off locations on campus:

  • Cafeteria/Administration Parking Lot (entrance via Madison Ave. and Harrison Ave.)

  • Gym Parking Lot (entrance via Harrison Ave.)

  • Building 10 Parking Lot (entrance via Washington Ave.)

For safety reasons, we kindly ask that students not arrive before 7:00 am, as our staff begins supervision at that time.

The Gym and the Building 10 parking lot have signs directing traffic, and you can follow the traffic flow.

Please refer to the diagram below for the cafeteria parking lot. The yellow lines indicate entry, and the Blue lines indicate exit. Please do not make a left turn at the corner of Madison and Harrison, as it can completely stop the flow of traffic and cause a significant disruption.

Thank you for being cooperative in maintaining a safe and efficient drop-off process for all students.

Afternoon Pickup

We have designated specific areas for afternoon pickup for the safety of our students, parents, and staff. Please note the following essential details:

Pickup Locations: Student pick-up locations are the same as student arrival locations.

Gate Opening Times: To ensure everyone's safety, the gym and Building 10 parking lot gates will open 5 minutes before the dismissal bell. Please avoid blocking the roadway while waiting for the gates to open. Students picked up after 2 pm MUST be in front of our cafeteria.

Supervision: Teachers and staff will supervise students waiting to be picked up only until 1:55 pm. Please ensure timely pickup.

Waiting Areas: Students waiting to be picked up must remain in the designated areas, either in front of the cafeteria or in front of the gym. Students are not allowed to be anywhere else on campus unless supervised by a teacher or coach.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Speed Limit: The speed limit in all parking lots is 10 mph. Please adhere to this limit to ensure everyone's safety.

  • Pull Forward: When picking up or dropping off students, please pull forward as far as possible to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

  • No Passing: To prevent accidents, do not pass other vehicles in the drop-off and pick-up areas.

  • Passenger Side: Ensure that students enter and exit the vehicle on the passenger side for their safety.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.

Student School IDs

All students are required to have their school ID with them at all times while on campus. We offer both digital and hard copies of student IDs.

Leonard's Digital ID App:

  • Why Choose Digital: Based on last year's experience, Leonard's Digital ID app is more accessible, as students are less likely to forget their phones at home than their plastic IDs. We also use the online IDs for students who are tardy or late, our new hall pass system, and our lunch lines.

  • How to Download: Please follow the directions on the flyer below to download Leonard’s Digital ID app on the student’s phone.

    Leonard's Digital ID Flyer

Plastic ID Cards:

  • Distribution: We will provide plastic ID cards upon receipt.

  • Replacement: If a plastic ID is lost, students must pay $5.00 to reprint it at our Student Services office.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you have trouble accessing your digital ID, please know that we are here to help you. Please see Ms. Denny in Student Services once school starts.

ID Display Options:

  • Students may wear a lanyard with the plastic ID attached or secure their ID to their backpacks.

Special Note for 9th Graders:

  • Incoming 9th graders can use their junior high IDs until we receive our new school IDs for the year.

CCSD Cell Phone Policy

Our school district's policy prohibits the use of wireless communication devices from the morning bell to the dismissal bell, including during class changes throughout the school day. Wireless Communication Devices should be powered off and put away. High school students will be allowed to use their devices (excluding phone calls) during lunch only in the cafeteria or courtyard eating area. Students may not use a wireless communication device during instructional time except when expressly directed by a teacher solely for educational purposes.

Can CCDS students have wireless communication devices or cell phones on campus?

A student may possess a wireless communication device or cell phone while on CCDS property, on school transportation, and at school activities, provided that from the morning bell to the dismissal bell, the cell phone is turned off and put away except directed by the teacher solely for educational purposes or during designated lunch areas for high school students only.

Can students wear AirPods, earbuds, or headphones on school grounds?

AirPods, earbuds, and headphones are wireless devices for communication. They are therefore prohibited from use during the school day, from the morning bell to the dismissal bell, unless directed by the teacher solely for educational purposes.

Will accommodations be made for students with documented needs?

Students will not receive discipline if they use their cell phone or wireless communication device to monitor a health condition (such as diabetes) that is documented through medical records provided to the school, including, but not limited to, an IEP, a Section 504 Plan, or a Health Plan.

How can a parent or guardian contact their child during the school day?

A parent should call the school if they need to get a message to their child. School personnel will relay the information to the student. If it is an emergency, a student will be removed from class and directed to the nearest office to contact his/her parent.

How can a student contact their parent or guardian during a school day?

A student who has an emergency and needs to contact his/her parent or guardian can do so from the nearest office.

Attendance Expectations

Student attendance is crucial to academic success. Numerous studies have demonstrated a strong link between good attendance and school achievement. Students who attend regularly consistently outperform their peers who have irregular attendance patterns. Research indicates that regular attendance enhances academic performance, improves social-emotional well-being, raises graduation rates, and enhances prospects for success after graduation.

By attending school consistently, students benefit from:

  • Regular access to instruction

  • Active participation in classroom activities

  • Building strong relationships with teachers and peers

Support and Communication: We understand that occasional absences may be unavoidable due to illness or personal circumstances. We want to reassure you that we are here to support you. If any challenges affect attendance, please let your teachers or the school administration know. We are here to help.

Please review our school’s Attendance Expectations linked below for more details.

School Lunch and Breakfast Prices

Breakfast is $1.75 for all grade levels.

Secondary lunch prices are $3.00.

The reduced prices for lunch and breakfast are $0.40 and $0.30, respectively.

To receive free or reduced meals, parents must complete a new free and reduced application for the 2025-2026 school year. Please remember that a new application must be completed each new school year. Please submit only one application per household, but list all children who attend Clay County Schools on the application, as the number of household members is a qualification for eligibility. For the most rapid processing of your Free & Reduced Meal Application, please apply online using the link below. Paper-based applications can be found in this folder.

Parents may now check the status of their application online at School Lunch Status and receive notification via email. Free/reduced lunch waivers are also used to determine if students qualify for reduced pricing for SAT, ACT, and AP assessments.

Students can choose their location and rent a locker from our Student Services Office during the first few weeks of the school year. The rental fee is $5.00.

Locker Rental Process:

  • Location Choice: Students can select their preferred locker location. When you visit the Student Services Office, please have the locker number and location that you'd like.

Please fill it out and return it to the school nurse as soon as possible.

In an emergency, we will attempt to contact you or the contact person listed in Synergy regarding the care provided to your student.
