As we approach the anniversary of September 11th, known as Patriot’s Day (or Heroes’ Day, by the FDOE), We are asking you to wear Red, White, and Blue.

On Friday, September 19th, Clay County District Schools is celebrating “Dads Take Your Child to School Day." This annual event is an opportunity to highlight the positive impact that fathers and male role models have on a child’s education. This event is not just for dads—it's for any significant male role model, including grandfathers, uncles, older brothers, and mentors.
*All OPJ Dads and Father figures please report to the Media Center from 9:00-9:30 on Sept 19th to join us for "Dads Take Your Child To School Day"!
The Florida Department of Education and Volunteer Florida encourage students to participate in the Hispanic Heritage Month student art and essay contests with the theme “Celebrating Florida’s Hispanic Heritage.” Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized and celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15.
All Florida students are invited to participate in academic and creative contests based on this year’s theme. Students in grades K-3 are invited to participate in an art contest, while students in grades 4-12 are invited to participate in an essay contest.
For the essay contest: six winners will be selected: two elementary school student (grades 4–5), two middle school student (grades 6–8) and two high school student (grades 9–12). Each winner will receive a 2–Year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation and a $100 gift card for school supplies.
Additionally, students and parents are invited to nominate full-time educators of all student grades for the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award.
Deadline to submit is Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The updated process for identifying and recertifying previous Project REACH students requires families to complete the FDOE-required Student Housing Questionnaire. This form allows the Project REACH team to contact families regarding their eligibility and needs.
