Connecting Families and School
Welcome Back, Tiger Families!
We’re thrilled to kick off another exciting year at Lake Asbury Junior High, home of the Tigers! Our theme for this school year is “Level Up!” a call to action for students, staff, and families to raise the bar, embrace new opportunities, and grow together as a learning community.
Whether your student is joining us for the first time or returning to finish strong, we are committed to making the start of this school year a positive and successful experience.
Important Reminders for the First Days of School:
Arrival Procedures:
Bus Riders: Students who ride the bus will be dismissed from the bus loop at 9:25 AM to head to their first class.
Breakfast from Bus: Students who need breakfast may exit the bus and go to the cafeteria when their bus arrives.
Walkers, Bike Riders, and Car Riders: These students should report to the cafeteria upon arrival and remain there until the first bell rings at 9:25 AM.
Please note: There is no campus supervision prior to 9:00 AM. For your child’s safety, do not drop them off before this time.
As part of our safety procedures, parents are not permitted to enter the cafeteria or campus after student arrival begins at 9:00 AM. At LAJH, parents do not walk students to class.
Dismissal Procedures:
Walkers and Bike Riders will be dismissed via a designated single point of departure.
Car Riders will exit through the cafeteria to the pickup area. We ask that you let your student know once you are in the loading area and hand the supplied placard from your rearview mirror.
Dismissal will take longer than usual during the first few days as students and families learn new routines. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to dismiss students safely and efficiently.
Please review Lake Asbury Junior High Parent Pickup Procedures if your student plans to be a car rider.
Lockers: Lockers are available to rent for $5 for the school year and are located in building 8. We suggest letting your child adjust to their schedule for a week or two before deciding, as many teachers provide class sets of books or use digital platforms, and a locker may not be necessary. Once they've had a chance to settle in, they can decide if having a locker would make their day easier.
We are proud to share that our school grade increased by 14 points, and we once again earned an “A” rating thanks to the hard work of our teachers, students, and families. A special congratulations to our 8th-grade families as your students helped lead the way!
To our new 6th and 7th graders, welcome to Tiger Country! We can’t wait to get to know you and help you grow this year. On the first day of school, all students will receive a paper copy of their schedule during their first period class.
Here’s to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and leveling up—Go Get'em, Tigers!
Go get ’em, Tigers!
