Message from Principal Reed |
Dear Clay Hill Elementary Families,
I want to wish a very Happy Easter to all of our families celebrating this weekend! I hope your Sunday is filled with joy, reflection, and quality time with loved ones.
As we look toward the coming week, please keep in mind that it will be a short one. Friday, April 10, is Fair Day, and there will be no school for students or staff. I truly hope to see many of our Bulldog families out at the Clay County Agricultural Fair supporting our local community and enjoying the festivities!
While we are enjoying these spring events, we are also keeping our eyes on the prize. We have approximately 20 school days remaining until our end-of-year testing window begins. Our teachers have been working incredibly hard, aligning their daily lessons with the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards to ensure every student is prepared and confident. To help your child stay on track over the next four weeks, here are a few ways you can support their success at home:
Prioritize Attendance: Every instructional minute counts. Ensure your child is at school on time every day (except Fair Day, of course!).
The Power of Rest: A consistent bedtime routine is vital. A well-rested brain processes new information and tackles challenges much more effectively.
Daily Reading: Encourage 20 minutes of reading each night. Whether it’s a favorite book or an article, it builds the stamina needed for ELA assessments.
Positive Encouragement: Testing can feel daunting for young learners. Remind them that these assessments are simply a chance to "show what they know" and celebrate the progress they’ve made this year.
Thank you for your unwavering support of our students and our school. It is the partnership between home and school that makes Clay Hill such a special place to learn and grow.
Enjoy the holiday and the fair, and Go Bulldogs!
Warmly,
Mrs. Reed

It's Spring Storm Season! Policy Reminder
|
|
|
Don't forget that springtime means April Showers, and sometimes, thunderstorms! A little rain during school is no cause for concern, but lightning in the vicinity of our campus requires a specific response to ensure safety.
Florida is known as the "Lightning Capital of the World." With more deaths and injuries than all other states combined, Florida is ranked as the #1 target for public safety and lightning awareness. School administration and/or the designee (school staff member overseeing activity) is expected and has the authority to act in the safest interest of all students, staff, guests, and visitors, and may cancel or delay activities, including student dismissal, While we make every effort to avoid disruption to schedules and routines, spring storms may affect dismissal and/or other activities from time to time. Our team will make every effort to communicate with parents in advance of any anticipated storm disruption.
Thank you for your patience during these events, and for monitoring conditions when storms are expected!
