September 28, 2025

This week CHE is proud to honor our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Brandy Tichinel, and our 2025-2026 Support Employee of the Year, Mrs. Rhonda Samples!

Mrs. Tichinel and Mrs. Samples both nurture the hearts of their learners FIRST, and then meet academic needs with purpose and precision. They positively impact the lives of our CHE Team every day, modeling professionalism and collegiality. We are beyond blessed to have their service in our community and so very proud to recognize them this year! Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Tichinel and Mrs. Samples on this well-deserved honor!

Mother Nature tried to interfere with our 4-6 Grade Glow Dance, but it was a rousing success! We are so proud of our intermediate-grade students who showed patience while we waited for the lightning to pass to move to the cafeteria for the fun. Once again, thank you to Mrs. Brashears, our awesome volunteer team, and our staff members, Mrs. Medina and Mrs. Avera, who donated their time to making the afternoon sensational!

Updates for the Week Ahead:

The annual Scout Roundup at CHE is Tuesday night! This will be an evening meeting in the cafeteria so that parents can be oriented to Cub Scouts and complete registration forms. Scouting complements classroom learning and offers an opportunity for students to develop citizenship, self-confidence, and leadership skills. In addition, it encourages youth to participate in service to others.

Mark Your Calendars! CHE Night at Chuck-E-Cheese is Friday, October 3, 2025! We hope to see all our Bulldogs there for great food and lots of fun!

Plan Ahead! Our Trunk or Treat Candy Drive starts next week! We are looking forward to our October events, as we bid farewell to September this week!

Art/Essay Contest at Clay Hill Elementary!

We are so excited to announce that our PVO is sponsoring the Clay Hill Elementary School Hispanic Heritage Art & Essay Contest, just for our local students!

This contest encourages young students to explore and express the richness and diversity of Hispanic Heritage through both visual art and written word. The goal is to celebrate the contributions, traditions, history, and vibrant cultures of Hispanic and Latino people across the globe, including those in the United States.

Theme: "My Hispanic Heritage Hero"
Students will create a piece centered on a Hispanic or Latino person who has made a significant impact on their life, community, or the world. This hero can be a family member, a historical figure (e.g., Sonia Sotomayor, Roberto Clemente, Frida Kahlo, Cesar Chavez), an artist, musician, scientist, athlete, or community leader.

The categories for submittals by grade are:
Grades K-1 (1 Art Winner)
Grades 2-3 (1 Art Winner, 1 Essay Winner)
Grades 4-6 (1 Art Winner, 1 Essay Winner)

Click HERE for more information and details about our CHE Hispanic Heritage Month Art and Essay Contest! Although participation during class is not required, PLEASE encourage students to submit art and/or essays, and support their opportunity to engage during school, if appropriate and manageable.

Submittals will be displayed on our HHM Bulletin Board in the Cafeteria and all participants will receive recognition for their participation!
