Message from Principal Reed

CHE Parents and Caregivers,

This week's BARK! is loaded with information about a variety of upcoming events and opportunities! Fall is such a fun time at school, as we celebrate the seasonal holidays and activities while still focusing on strong academics in the classrooms. Some of our favorite annual events will take place within the next few weeks, and I want to take this opportunity to welcome YOU, our outstanding parents and caregivers, to be a part of each one! Our school supporters make our students' experiences better and strengthen every effort we make, including shaping our Bulldogs into community-minded citizens through our P.A.W.S. Pledge: "I promise to Put forth a positive attitude, Act Responsibly, make Wise choices, and Show Respect. I am a Clay Hill Bulldog!" Thank you, parents, for all you do!

Sincerely,
Adele Reed

Red Ribbon Week is Next Week!

From October 27 -31, CHE will celebrate Red Ribbon Week! During this time, we strive to promote a drug-free lifestyle by encouraging students and the community to make a visible commitment to living a healthy, drug-free life. We raise awareness by educating students about the dangers and destructive effects of drug and substance abuse. Red Ribbon Week provides a great opportunity for parents, educators, and children to talk openly about making positive choices and resisting peer pressure.

Your support at home reinforces the important messages shared at school during this time. Click the flyer for our Daily Dress Up Themes!

Read Aloud to a Child Week: Oct. 19-25, 2025

Every year during the last week of October, Read to Them sponsors Read Aloud to a Child Week, a national event to showcase the importance of reading aloud to children that encourages families to read together. Read Aloud to a Child Week is meant to be a stress-free way for everyone– no matter your reading aloud experience– to engage with the literacy community. The theme for this year’s event is “Purposeful Acts of Kindness.” We’ve all heard of random acts of kindness, but it is so much more powerful to intentionally lead with compassion, empathy, and an open heart. Check out ReadToThem.org for suggestions on books and a links to Family Resources, like reading tips, benefits of reading aloud, and printables.
