Message from Principal Reed

Dear Clay Hill Families,

We're so excited to Celebrate Math this week at CHE! Be sure to check the calendar below for daily themes and information from your child's teacher about special activities. Don't miss family activities, also embedded below, as well as this Friday's culminating celebration: Pie a Teacher for Pi Day! (We're celebrating 3.14 one day early!) You can help support our Math Teams, who will be competing with schools across the district in April, by making your contribution to our Pi Day fundraiser and helping your child's class PIE his teacher!

Just five days remain in the third quarter! Be sure to check your child's grades and progress to make sure all missing assignments are completed. Reach out to his or her teacher with any questions you may have before we head off for a week of rest during Spring Break, March 16-20.

Let's finish the third nine weeks STRONG before heading into the final quarter, Bulldogs!

Spring Forward Next Week!

Don’t forget to "Spring Forward," Clay County!

Just a friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend! Most people find it easiest to set their clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night before heading to bed—that way, you’re all set for Sunday morning!

While we all adjust to losing that hour of sleep, we’re definitely looking forward to those longer, sunnier afternoons for our students' after-school sports and activities!

We can’t wait to see all our students arriving safely and right on time this Monday morning to kick off another great week of learning.

FAST State Writing Assesstment: March 31-April 1

Annual state testing for grades 4-6 is scheduled at the end of this month. Our students and teachers have been working diligently to prepare for the rigors of this assessment, which evaluates the students' ability to respond to a prompt with purpose, structure, essay development, and language. To learn more about how students are assessed, visit https://www.fldoe.org/accountability/assessments/k-12-student-assessment/writing.stml.

Please review our FAST Writing Assessment Parent Letter HERE to become acclimated to the testing policies.
