Message from Principal Reed

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we reach the conclusion of a productive and busy second quarter, I wanted to take a moment to share my sincere gratitude with you.

Thank you for your unwavering support and for the trust you place in us every day. Entrusting us with your children’s education and growth is a responsibility we cherish, and it is a privilege to partner with you in their journey. Spending the holiday season with the children is a special blessing, and we appreciate your support of our festive fun amidst the academic focus.

While we are eager to hit the ground running with our academic goals when the new year begins, the coming weeks are meant for something different. I hope this winter break provides your family with a chance to recharge after a fast-paced semester, renewal and space to reflect and prepare for the opportunities ahead, and quality time spent with those who matter most. In keeping with this time away from the hustle and bustle, the BARK! will return on January 4, and we will see our students back on campus on Tuesday, January 6.

Whether you are traveling or enjoying a quiet holiday at home, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful start to 2026.

We look forward to welcoming our students back, refreshed and ready to learn, in the New Year.

With Warmest Wishes,
Adele Reed

Overtime Athletics Sports Spectacular: Coming in January

2026 Track Season Starts in January!

Attention all athletes! Track Tryouts will be held the week of January 12. We are looking forward to building a strong team of students in grades 4-6 to compete at this year's Elementary Track Meet on February 21. More info to come, but we are now planning for a great track season!

*Parent ALERT: Synergy Mail is STAYING*

With the successful rollout of Apptegy, the CCDS is excited about the direction of our district communications. While we explored sunsetting Synergy Mail over the break, recent system requirements within the Synergy platform mean we will keep that feature active for the remainder of the school year. Our goal is to ensure a stable environment for families as we prioritize Apptegy as our primary tool moving forward. Parents may continue communication through Synergy mail, but we will be transitioning away in the next school year. Apptegy is now the primary communication tool for parents and teachers.

Check out this link to our CCDS Resource Page for more information and support with Apptegy.

Books Make Great Gifts! Get Ready for our Q3 Book Clubs!

Literacy is the greatest gift we can give our students! Now's a great time to start reading our third quarter Principal's Book Club selections: Storm Dragons and Benny Ramirez! We will celebrate these titles in March, along with our other SSYRA texts as we prepare for the annual Battle of the Books and SSYRA Reader Recognitions! Take the Chick-fil-A Challenge and read all 15 titles for a special luncheon and celebration!
