Message from Principal Reed

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The excitement is building as the quarter winds down! We're just 4 and a half days from winter break! We've had lots of fun this week with our seasonal dress-up, and we hope you're enjoying the daily antics! I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to our volunteer parents who've shared their time and talents to make our holiday events the best they can be: Mr. and Mrs. Brashears, Mrs. Mendez, Ms.Hardy, Mrs. Brantley, Mr. Pavuk, and Mr. Marshall, and the many more who'll be assisting on Tuesday with Christmas Under the Stars. I'd also like to thank our School Advisory Council members and guests: Mr. Edwards, Mrs. Velez, Mrs. Stininger, Mrs. Brashears, Ms. Pringle, and Mrs. Flavin for their engagement with decision-making around state recognition funds. We know that our volunteers don't do it for the acknowledgement, but we are truly grateful to have such an amazing community of parents and caregivers supporting our efforts.

Midyear testing is completed for grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 4, and grades 5, and 6 will complete their midyear assessments when we return from the break.  Parents may access their child's midyear state test (FAST) scores in the state Family Portal. Remember that your child's Access Code, needed to access scores in the Family Portal, is NOT their school ID, but rather, a unique code that you'll find in your Synergy ParentVUE account under "Student Info."

The last day of the quarter is this Friday, December 19, which will be the last opportunity for students to submit work to be applied toward their quarter 2 report card. We'll also be celebrating students' positive behaviors this Friday, December 19, with our PAWS Party and Kona Ice.

Thank you for making every effort to ensure that our students are here on time, every day, even as the quarter winds down! Teaching and learning continue to take place amidst all the fun. We look forward to seeing you all at Christmas Under the Stars on Tuesday, December 16th, when ALL our students will perform seasonal favorites!

Parent ALERT: Goodbye Synergy Mail!

The CCDS is moving away from Synergy in the upcoming school year, and Synergy email will no longer be available after we return from the winter break. The sole communication system will be Thrillshare/Apptegy.

It is imperative for parents to have access to Apptegy and the OneClay app to most readily send and receive communication to/from teachers. Check out this link to our CCDS Resource Page for more information and support with Apptegy.
