Dear Clay County Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the second quarter for the 2025-2026 school year and look forward to the winter break, I wanted to express my gratitude. I have truly enjoyed visiting our schools and witnessing firsthand the impressive focus and determination that our students bring to their classrooms every day.

This quarter, filled with continued achievements across our district, highlights the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strong support from you, our parents and guardians. This season of giving reminds us to celebrate all their accomplishments.

To stay informed on your child’s academic journey, please note that second-quarter report cards will be available on Friday, January 9, 2026. Additionally, students in grades K–10 will complete mid-year assessments by the end of January—STAR for grades K–2 and FAST PM2 for grades 3–10. You can view these results and detailed student reports through the Florida Department of Education’s Family Portal (links below). Please remember that PM2 assesses content students are expected to master by the end of the year; therefore, these results are just one piece of your child’s overall learning data.

As a reminder, please be aware that our Winter Break begins on Monday, December 22, 2025 and students will return to school on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Please check the district calendar for specific details.

A continued thank you to our parents and guardians for being a vital part of Clay County District Schools. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Respectfully,

David Broskie
Superintendent of Schools

Celebrating Awesomeness!

Each school year, CCDS teams up with Community First Credit Union to recognize outstanding schools who make an impact on our community. All members of the community are encouraged to nominate a school that is doing an exceptional job at developing each of the School of the Month program's monthly themes.

CCDS would like to extend a special thank you to Community First Credit Union for their continued partnership. Because of their generosity, each winning school receives a celebration for all employees, money toward a school initiative, and a trophy to display proudly in their front office!

CCDS is proud to recognize the first three incredible campuses that were voted as Community First Schools of the Month:

September | Theme: Warm & Welcoming

Congratulations to Charles E. Bennett Elementary and Fleming Island Elementary for fostering an inviting atmosphere and maintaining beautiful, well-kept campuses that make every student and family feel at home.

October | Theme: Unity in Action

A round of applause for Ridgeview Elementary and Clay Hill Elementary! These schools were recognized for building inclusivity and taking proactive steps to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and protected.

November | Theme: Helping Hands

We are so proud of Lake Asbury Junior High and Bannerman Learning Center for their inspiring charitable initiatives and acts of kindness that have made a true difference in our community.

Get Ready to Vote for January's School of the Month!

The celebration continues in the new year! The theme for January is "Reading Resolutions." We want to hear how your school is inspiring a love of reading among students and families in 2026.

Mark your calendars: Voting Opens on January 6th! Visit the School of the Month page (link below) to nominate a school and share their story!
