Dear Clay County Parents and Guardians,

It is hard to believe how quickly summer break has come and gone. I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful break filled with fun, relaxation, and lasting memories. On behalf of the Clay County District Schools team, I am excited to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm welcome to those joining One Clay for the first time. As we prepare to welcome students back to school, I want to take a moment to share some important updates and information to help you and your child feel confident and ready for the first day on August 11th.

Last school year was filled with moments of significant achievement and progress. We are incredibly proud to once again be named an “A” school district by the Florida Department of Education, and scoring six percentage points higher this last school year than the previous one. We continue to rank in the top ten in all assessed areas (English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) and have a graduation rate of 95% at our seven traditional high schools. These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff, and your partnership as parents.

Looking ahead, we are excited for what the 2025-2026 school year holds. We are committed to building on our successes and providing an enriching and supportive learning environment for every child in Clay County District Schools. This year, we are particularly excited about our new parent/teacher communication tool called Rooms, making it easier for you to connect with your child's teachers, coaches, and club sponsors. As research shows, parent and school communication and engagement are key to a successful school experience.

Further down in this newsletter, you will find important information and links to help prepare your child for the new school year, such as transportation and meal service reminders. Additionally, our school principals and teachers will also be reaching out with specific information regarding schedules, supply lists, and classroom details. We encourage you to stay connected this year through our websites, new OneClay app, Rooms, and our social media channels. Information on upcoming events, important dates, and resources will be shared via these platforms.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. I am honored to serve as your superintendent, and I look forward to another great year ahead!

Respectfully,

David Broskie
